University of Leicester
Leicester is a principal city of the East Midlands and being halfway between London and the north it is ideal as a base from which to explore England. The University of Leicester was established in 1957 and its 17,000 students include 6,000 postgraduates.
The university has an excellent reputation in engineering, physics, biochemistry and genetics, in which field it is most famous for being the place where genetic fingerprinting was invented.
